Carla herself crossed borders to bring artwork by some of the most notable Latin American artists to Southern California. Born and raised in El Salvador, with a Czech-Hungarian-Jewish heritage, and a passionately vibrant personality, Carla arrived in Laguna Beach by way of New York, where she had worked for 12 years in the creative department of a major advertising agency. When her husband tired of the Wall Street hustle and became “desperate to live near the ocean,” the couple headed to the West Coast, where Carla continued in her ad agency position, running 17 brands before hitting a wall and resigning in 2008.

My work is interdisciplinary and investigates musical concepts and theories, the relationship between color, form, texture, proportion and pitch, harmony, timbre, and rhythm. These works of visual music find an appreciative audience in college and university art galleries where academia provides viewers from multiple disciplines and overlaps in areas of study are of interest.

Chee uses vibrant color, and a love for experimentation and change, to depict both traditional and modern Native subject matter and imagery. These two worlds are masterfully blended to give the patron a glimpse into present day Indian life; often creating a dynamic sense of unease. The results are works with bold imagery, influenced by historical and political events, which are filled with movement and emotion. With visual allure, Mr. Chee deconstructs the stories, myths, and culture of the Native people.

Laurie Hassold, a Kentucky-born artist now based in Southern California, creates intricate sculptures she describes as “future fossils.” Her work envisions speculative remnants of post-human evolution, merging fossilised forms with the discarded detritus of contemporary culture. Hassold’s creations reflect her fascination with nature’s awe-inspiring and often destructive forces—earthquakes, avalanches, and the passage of geologic time—interpreted through a lens of reverence and brutal beauty.
I’m a California-based multi-disciplinary artist, who prefers working with recycled materials. My interests are in processes, materials, and ways of saving the planet. I find it satisfying to combine and juxtapose non-traditional materials in my work, and I think that everyone needs to combat global warming. I have been working with citrus peels since 2009, exploring ways to transform this material into finished sculptural forms. More about David

I’ve been passionate about the arts for as long as I can remember. Growing up just south of Sydney, I was inspired by the city’s vibrant cultural scene, from ballet at the Opera House to exhibitions at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art. These early experiences instilled in me a lifelong love for creativity.

Equal parts artist and beach bum, I channel my passion for both art and surfing into a life of creative freedom. After years as an award-winning commercial photographer, I traded a thriving career for full autonomy as a visual artist. Specializing in collage art, I merge vintage imagery and diverse genres to create bold, thought-provoking compositions. Through my signature digital-to-analog process, I transform forgotten visuals into high-quality art prints, curating and repackaging lost visual history into new stories for collectors and art lovers alike.
